My art practice is around the territories between “ I “ and “ we ”; the relationship of I as oneself and we as collective individuals that forms the whole picture of natural reality. I look at the line that separates both territories as well as questioning their interrelation, the inter-being of social overlaps in societies. It is the encounter of different backgrounds and cultures. In parallel, “ I ” and “ we ” is observed to the scientific fact of living organism that every living thing on earth uses a similar set of molecules to eat, to breath, to move, and to reproduce.
The artworks encompass painting and drawing from the outset and have incorporated the exploration in other art forms including installation and video art. I have been exploring more of making use of lighting in my works. For me, light represents the world. Light could either reveal or conceal, because we are, most of the time, confident and trust the sense of sight.
I have found that eastern thoughts, western philosophy, nature, and science, in their own way, are parallel in discussion about across boundaries to which my art projects are developed in conversation. The dialogue on philosophical, metaphysical and scientific ground begins with the smallest unit, the " I ". It proceeds towards the larger scale, the society, taking in consumerism and environmental situation in the current epoch we are in, The Anthropocene.
